Spontaneous Rupture of Pancreatic Acinar Cell Carcinoma: Report of a Case

Introduction Pancreatic acinar cell carcinoma (ACC) is a relatively rare neoplasm. Furthermore, tumor rupture extremely rare. Only 1 case of ruptured pancreatic ACC has been reported, and the long-term outcome unknown. Here, we present spontaneously with survival after successful resection. Case Presentation A 67-year-old man was brought to our hospital by ambulance, presenting progressive left abdominal pain. Laboratory data showed an increased inflammatory response, contrast-enhanced computed tomography mass in pancreas tail nonuniform enhancement early phase. Fluid collection detected around spleen kidney. Spontaneous strongly suspected. After improvement his general condition, patient underwent resection adjacent organs. The resected surrounded organs adipose tissue, so obvious exposure not observed surgical margins. Pathologically, neither cells at margins nor lymph node involvement detected. survived 80 months since initial diagnosis without any evidence recurrence. Conclusion Although potential for dissemination, including remains option curative treatment.
